The same moment of birth, read in another city
Moving does not shift the planets; it shifts the houses. See which areas of life come forward in a place you are considering — and which stay exactly as they are.

See what a city does to your chart
We work out the time zone ourselves and show which planets change house and how the angles move.
What a relocated chart is
A relocated chart is your birth chart built for the coordinates of another city. The moment is the same one, the planets sit in the same signs and degrees, but the point of observation has moved, and the houses, the Ascendant and the Midheaven moved with it. That is why the same qualities of yours come through different areas of life in a new place.
Moving and emigrating are two different events in this method. A move happens to almost everyone and asks nothing special of the chart, even when the new city is in another country. Emigration works differently: a person changes country along with their roots and their citizenship, and an event like that needs footing in the birth chart. We count that footing separately, and when there is not enough of it we say so.
What the recast chart shows
What is in the reading
First we explain why the pull away and what your birth chart says about it. Then whether a change of country is written in, the years when the theme rises, and only then each city in turn.
Why the pull away
The pull to move comes from different places. One person wants more world, another is tired of the ordinary, a third is leaving what weighs on them at home. Those read differently in a chart, and a move only answers some of them. The reading opens here.
Whether you grow in or move on
The method knows three kinds. One grows into a place and finds every move an effort. One is moved by life, often without being asked. One can change the whole way of life, not just the address. We say which is yours and what follows from it.
Is a change of country written in
Moving to another city happens to everyone and asks nothing of the chart. Changing country, roots and citizenship together is rare and needs footing. We count that footing and say plainly what to expect when it is thin.
The years the question rises
The years for moving and the years for changing country are counted separately, because the events are different and the years do not always agree. Not a promise of an event in a given year — a sense of when the decision ripens on its own.
What each city does to the chart
In a new place the same planets land in different houses, so the same qualities of yours come through different areas of life: somewhere through work, somewhere through home or through the people around you.
What a move will not change
Natal tasks travel with you to any city. The relocated chart adds to the birth chart rather than replacing it, and we write plainly what not to expect from a change of place.
Where the difference lies
How this differs from astrocartography
An astrocartography map looks the same for everybody who shares a birth moment. This reading is built from your own details and the coordinates of the cities you named, so it is about your choice rather than lines drawn across a world map.
| Astrocartography maps online | This relocation reading |
|---|---|
| Promise a place of power | Shows the houses and angles that actually move |
| Draw lines across the whole planet at once | Works out the specific cities you chose |
| Say nothing about what a move leaves untouched | Names what will stay the same wherever you go |
| Hand out answers before seeing your chart | Is built on your own time and place of birth |
| Sell the dream of leaving | Helps you decide rather than pushing you |

Questions
What is a relocated chart?+
It is your birth chart recast for the coordinates of another city. The moment of birth stays the same, so the planets sit in the same signs and degrees. What moves is the observer's place on Earth, and with it the houses, the Ascendant and the Midheaven — which is to say the areas of life those same planets come through.
What is the difference between moving and emigrating here?+
Moving counts as an ordinary event. It happens to almost everyone and needs no special indications in the chart, wherever you are going. Emigration — changing country along with your roots and citizenship — works differently. It is rare, it needs footing from several links in the chart, and that is why the years for moving and the years for changing country are counted apart.
Will my character change after a move?+
No. The birth chart stays the leading one and the relocated chart only adds to it: it amplifies some themes and quietens others without rewriting who you are. What changes is which areas of life your same qualities come through.
Where is a move felt most?+
In the houses that stood empty or weak in the birth chart. If the house of money or of partnership is quiet in your chart and planets arrive into it in the new place, that area wakes up more noticeably than the rest. Where the birth chart was already crowded, a move changes little.
Can a birth chart tell me where to move?+
It does not appoint a right city, but it gives you something to decide with. It shows which themes come forward in each option, which fade, and what not to expect from a change of place. The decision stays yours. A move changes the set, not the plot.
How is this different from a solar return cast in another city?+
Different instruments. Relocation recasts the birth chart itself on a chosen city and describes life there for as long as you live there. A solar return covers one year, and our method casts it on the city of birth: a birthday trip does not rewrite a year.
More about the solar return →Do I need an exact birth time?+
For the houses and the Ascendant, yes — they shift every few minutes, and without a time the calculation would be invention. If you do not have it, start with rectification, which recovers the time from dated events in your life.
Recover your birth time →How many cities can I compare?+
Up to three in one reading. That is usually enough to see the difference between real options — say your home city, a capital, and somewhere abroad.
We are moving as a couple. Can you read both charts?+
Yes, in the same reading and at no extra cost: add your partner's details in the quiz and a «Moving together» section appears. By the method a family move rests on both adults' charts, and when one of them has no indications of their own the family tends to be pulled back. We work out each person's footing and the years the theme is active for both.
Does this work if I have already moved?+
Yes, and it is a common case. The reading then explains why some themes grew louder in the new place and others went quiet — and what to do about it.
How do I get the reading?+
Right after payment we put it together and show it on the site, and the link goes to your inbox as well, so you can come back to it whenever you like.
