Which stone suits you
Read from your chart rather than your Sun sign: the ruler, the balance of the elements and the planet expressed more weakly than the rest. The calculation is free.

What the calculation looks at
Three anchors instead of one. The Sun sign is one position out of ten in a chart.
The chart ruler
The planet that rules your rising sign. Two people with the same Sun sign often have different rulers, and that is where the stone tables start to disagree.
The element balance
How much fire, earth, air and water the chart holds. The element in short supply is what people usually describe as something missing in their character.
Metal and finger
Each planet has its own metal, but the tradition recommends a gold setting: gold suits the stone of any planet. A ring is worn on the left hand, the receiving one, on the finger of its planet. Mars and Saturn have no finger of their own, so their stones go into a pendant or a brooch.
Why different sources name different stones
In the tradition every stone is tied to a planet. A sign receives it only through its ruler, and Scorpio, Aquarius and Pisces have two rulers each, a classical one and a modern one. That is where two different answers to the same sign come from.

So the calculation starts from the chart, not from the month of birth. The month gives you the Sun sign and nothing else; the rising sign, which the ruler depends on, comes from the time and place.
What the result shows
- The leading planet of your chart, and why that one
- The minerals the tradition links with that planet
- The setting, the planet's metal and where to wear the stone: a finger of the left hand or a pendant
- The balance of the elements: what the chart has plenty of and what it almost lacks
The tradition recommends a gold setting: gold suits the stone of any planet, and the planet's own metal is an extra correspondence. The stone is worn openly, in the light, and a ring goes on the left hand, the receiving one. The correspondences are given as a tradition, not as a promise of a result. A piece of jewellery does not work instead of a person, and we say so plainly.
What the result looks like
An example for a chart with Cancer rising, so the chart ruler is the Moon.
Your stone by the chart
Chart ruler: the Moon
Minerals
moonstone, pearl, opal, white coral, selenite
Setting and metal
Gold; the Moon's metal is silver
How it is worn
Thumb of the left hand, or a pendant at the neck
Colours and day
white, silvery, pearly · Monday
Lunar themes: feelings, home, looking after yourself and those close to you. This is a correspondence of the tradition and no promise of a result: jewellery reminds you of an intention, and the work stays with you.

Your ruler will be your own: it depends on the rising sign, and that changes roughly once every two hours. This is why the birth time is needed.
Find my stonePlanets, stones and metals
The seven classical planets. One of them turns out to be the ruler of your chart, and the stone is counted from it. Which one depends on your rising sign.

| Planet | Minerals | Planet's metal | Where it is worn | Colours | Day |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sun | diamond, amber, peridot, carnelian | Gold | Middle finger of the left hand, the 'solar' finger | golden orange, gold | Sunday |
| Moon | moonstone, pearl, opal, white coral | Silver | Thumb of the left hand, or a pendant at the neck | white, silvery, pearly | Monday |
| Mercury | rock crystal, agate, glass | Mercury (aluminium) | Little finger of the left hand | pale yellow, transparent | Wednesday |
| Venus | emerald, malachite, charoite, coral | Copper | Thumb of the left hand, or a pendant at the neck | pink, light green, light blue | Friday |
| Mars | ruby, hematite, red garnet, magnetite | Iron (steel) | A pendant or a brooch: Mars has no finger of its own | red, scarlet, steel | Tuesday |
| Jupiter | turquoise, lapis lazuli, sapphire, marble | Tin (brass) | Index finger of the left hand | purple, blue, indigo | Thursday |
| Saturn | morion, onyx, obsidian, granite | Lead (wool) | A pendant or a brooch: Saturn has no finger of its own | black, blue, ashen | Saturday |
Scorpio, Aquarius and Pisces have a second ruler in the modern scheme: Pluto, Uranus and Neptune. Their minerals are described, but there is no finger and no day of the week for them, because these planets were discovered after the system of correspondences had settled. That is why they are not in the table.
These correspondences come from the tradition. Nobody here promises an outcome.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a 'stone by star sign' table?
A table gives one answer to every twelfth person. Here your chart is read: the rising sign, its ruler, the balance of the elements. Two people born a week apart can get different stones, and the same person will get the same stone from any source that reads the chart the same way.
Do I need my exact birth time?
Ideally, yes. The rising sign changes roughly every two hours, and without the time the chart ruler cannot be named with confidence. Without the time the calculation still shows the balance of the elements, but not the leading planet.
Is it free?
The stone pick is free, there is nothing to pay. The compensation reading is a separate product from £6.99: it goes further and looks at the planets under strain in your chart and what to do about them.
Do I have to wear the stone?
No. In the tradition a piece of jewellery works as a reminder of an intention, not instead of action. If you like the object, wear it; if not, the reading is just as useful without it.
